4 children die of fever in Salem hospital in 14 hours

Four children have died due to fever in the last 14 hours at a government hospital in Salem near here, sources said today.

The deceased were in the age group of five months to five years, they said.

Two boys, both aged two, died of fever at the hospital last night. They were undergoing treatment at the hospital for the last few days, the sources said.

A five-month-old girl of Kallakurichi in Villupuram district died at the hospital today, they said, adding a five-year-old boy, who had also symptoms of fever died today.

According to the sources, Coimbatore district has reported some dengue deaths a few days back.
