In a bid to strengthen BJP in Tamil Nadu ahead of next year's Assembly polls, 42 Union ministers would be visiting different parts of the state, where people can air their grievances.

According to BJP state president Tamilisai Soundararajan, the Ministers will visit a district in the coming months and interact with people during the mass contact programme.

"For instance, people in Salem district have expressed their desire to take up their issues with textile minister. So, we will invite the textiles minister to Salem," she said.

Asked why such an exercise has been started with just a year left for Assembly polls, she said, Union ministers were concerned about the issues relating to Tamil Nadu.

To a query about BJP's alliance in Tamil Nadu, she reiterated that BJP would be an alternative in the state and her party will not have any truck with AIADMK in the next year's polls.

Earlier, Soundararajan met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed various issues related to Tamil Nadu.
