A six-year-old girl has allegedly been raped, murdered and the body dumped near a railway track, police said Friday.
The girl celebrated played Holi on Thursday and was reportedly missing since that afternoon, the police said.
Her parents lodged a complaint late in the evening after a search for her was in vain, they said.
A case was registered and police teams were formed to to trace the girl.
That night, they found her body near a railway track.

Her nine-year-old brother provided the police a lead that he saw a person living nearby going along with his sister.
The suspect, who lives with his friends hailing from a northern state, was interrogated and he confessed to the crime, police claimed.
He was arrested.
A case of kidnap, rape, murder and also under relevant sections of POCSO Act was registered.
