Ahmedabad: ten girls escape from women protection house

Press Trust of India Ahmedabad
Ten girls including a minor fled from a state government-run women protection house in GIDC area of Odhav in the city today, police said.

The girls escaped by breaking the window grill and jumping over the compound wall at around 2 am today.

"These girls include a 16-year-old one. Some are orphans, some were lodged here after they ran away from their homes. Last night, they broke the window grill and ran away after jumping the compound wall. We learnt that these girls were not happy here," said inspector G S Bariya.

In-charge superintendent Bhavna Jog has filed a complaint in this regard.

"There was a garba near the house last night. Taking advantage of the noise, the girls escaped," she said.
