Ashtadhatu idol worth several crores stolen in UP

An Ashtadhatu idol of Goddess Durga, worth several crores of rupees, was stolen from a temple in Bansdeeh area here, police said today.

The Ashtadhatu (a combination of eight metals) statue, worth several crore rupees in the international market, was yesterday stolen from a temple in Kharauni village of this district, they said.

An FIR was lodged today on the complaint of one Rajesh Singh, they said, adding the matter is being investigated.
