Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav cancelled his visit to the city today as his helicopter could not land here due to heavy rains and hail.
The Chief Minister left Lucknow around 1 PM and reached here, but his helicopter could not land at the helipad at HBTI Engineering College due to heavy rains and hail and he returned, Kanpur ADM (City) Avinash Singh told reporters.
Akhilesh had to inspect the zoo here and attend the closing ceremony of a workshop for wildlife conservation, he said.
The Chief Minister also had to inaugurate some developmental programmes.
When asked about the next visit of the Chief Minister, the ADM said he had no information.
Akhilesh was scheduled to come to the city earlier on January 15, but then also his visit was cancelled due to bad weather.
