Bodies found, 1 injured in firing in twin incidents

Bodies of a man and woman were recovered from a closed motor garage behind Hanuman Vatika in the steel city, while an unidentified man opened fire leaving one person seriously injured at Nuagaon area.

The body of the male, identified as Haveli Toppo (28) a driver hailing from Ranchi was found at the garage on the side of an unidentified woman, police said adding both the bodies bore the mark of injuries inflicted by a sharp weapon.

The Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Panposh. Tushar Jena said, "Toppo's driving licence, lying on his side, establishes his identity and we believe that both of them had come from Ranchi as his permanent address was mentioned there".
 

In another incident, unknown motorcycle-borne assailants shot at and seriously injured one person identified as Sitaram Sahu (62) when he was returning from the village haat.

The incident took place at Nuagaon area, police said adding that Sahu has suffered injuries on shoulder and ABD.

SDPO Biramitrapur, A Rana said, "We are investigating into the case".
