Businessman shot at after failed abduction bid

Poice said the gang, which came from the Assam side, first attempted to lift Rajkumar Newar in the crowded Ghoramara bazar area.

As Newar raised an alarm, they left him behind but not before firing shots at his legs injuring the businessman.

Newar was later admitted to Alipurduar hospital.
