The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against an Income Tax officer for allegedly amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.
In a statement released here, the CBI said that Income Tax officer Mudavath Siva Sankara Nayak, while working here between March 2010 and December 2017, had amassed disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs 1.5 crore.
The CBI said that a case was registered yesterday under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and searches were carried out at various locations in which incriminating documents were seized.
