CM participates in Guru Gobind Singh's birth anniversary

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said the teachings of Guru Gobind Singh have become more relevant in present times and exhorted people to follow the path shown by him.

Singh received the holy palanquin of Guru Granth Sahib at Ridge in the celebration to mark Guru Gobind Singh's 350th birth anniversary.

"He inspired the society with his teachings. He had great affection and love for Himachal. He is a glaring example of valour and sacrifice, in the battlefield he even sacrificed the lives of his sons," he said.

An exhibition depicting Guru Gobind Singh's life and the Gatka, martial art of the Sikhs, was showcased.
 

The two-day event was organised by Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Shimla and the state government.
