Custody of PWD engineers extended till May 16

A local court today extended till May 16 the police custody of Public Works Department engineer Satish Chikhlikar and branch engineer Jagadish Wagh who were arrested by Anti-Corruption Bureau in a graft case.

The duo was produced before the court today on expiry of the remand and their custody was extended by seven days to May 16, the ACB said in a press release.

Meanwhile, the ACB officials seized cash worth Rs 35 lakh that was found in a bank locker of Chikhlikar at Nanded, the release said adding with this, the total value of his property including fixed assets, gold, silver ornaments and other valuables that was seized, worked out Rs 17.90 crore.
 

The value of assets of PWD branch engineer Jagadish Wagh seized by the ACB was worth Rs 86.71 lakh.

Both Chikhalikar and Wagh were trapped by ACB on April 30 while accepting bribe of Rs 22,000 from a contractor to clear his bill.
