A delegation of dyers in nearby Tirupur are expected to meet Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani, after the ongoing Parliament session to discuss pollution-related issues with the ministry.
Irani has asked Tirupur Exporters Association (TEA) President A Sakthivel, to bring a delegation along with dyeing units representatives, when he met the minister today at Delhi.
Along with the problemd being faced by the knitwear garment exporters and various issues to be addressed for the growth of garment sector, Shaktivel had taken up the problems of dyeing units in Tirupur, particularly Rs 200 crore grant announced by the Centre a decade ago, TEA sources said.

The minister has asked him to come as a delegation along with the dyeing units representatives, after the parliamentary session is over mainly to discuss about considering of the grant to Common Effluent Treatment Plants in Tirupur and also other pollution related issues.
Dyers are expected to raise the issue of high cost of operations and also request the minister to consider to set up Dyers Park with the financial assistance of Centre and State governments, they said.
