Tamil Nadu government should not allow Karnataka to go ahead with its proposal to construct a dam across Cauvery at Mekedatu, Tamil Maanila Congress chief G K Vasan said today.
Now that the two factions of the AIADMK had merged, the party government should come forward to resolve issues, including the Mekedatu dam, that were pending, he told reporters here.
At any cost, Karnataka should not be allowed to construct the dam, he added.
Vasan, a former union minister, said the proposed All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Tamil Nadu should be set up in such a location so as to benefit maximum number of people.
