Do not bifurcate 156 yr old PWD dept

: A State Level meeting of Tamil Nadu Public Works department Engineers and Assistant Engineers' Association urged the Government not to bifurcate the 156 year old Government department.

They demanded that the Water resources department and construction (Building) wing of PWD remain together as PWD department.

They also urged the government to restore the old pay scale, which was reduced for the newly recruited Assistant engineers who joined service in 2015 so that the quality of service was maintained.

They said retired engineers should not be given extension or re appointed.

The Association State presidentMohanraj presided, while The vice president Soundararajan welcomed the delegates.
