Puthiya Tamizhakam today alleged that the Election Commission had failed to take action against distribution of money to voters during the assembly polls in Tamil Nadu.

Briefing reporters on the deliberations of the patry's political high level committee meeting, which took stock of situation in the aftermath of the polls, PT president Dr Krishnasamy, said the party condemned the "biased functioning of the election commission" which failed to prevent money distribution and movement of trucks and containers with money.

Krishnasamy, who lost the Ottapidaram constituency by a margin of 493 votes, said he would approach Madras High Court for recounting or ordering a repoll in the constituency, as he was sure of the victory there.

He said the party will organise a state-wide agitation against the election commission for its failure t prevent the money distribution, the date of which would be announced later, in consultation with the alliance partners, he said.
