Factory looted by armed robbers in Ghaziabad

A group of masked armed robbers barged inside a metal factory at Masuri-Gulaothi industrial area and allegedly decamped with booty worth Rs 12 lakh, police said.

As per the complaint of factory owner Gaurav Bansal, around 18 robbers armed with iron rods, sticks and country made pistols barged inside a metal factory last night around 12.30 AM, Superintendent of Police rural area (SPRA) Rakesh Pandey said.

Security guards and the workers were taken captive in a room and their mouths were gagged with cloth. They remained inside the factory premises till 4.30 am and decamped with 3 tons of lead ingots, 7 tones of battery scrap, SP added.
 

While fleeing the robbers snatched 15 mobile phones and 20 thousand rupees from the workers and security guards.

Bansal has further narrated in his complaint that robbers smashed CCTV camera, DVR and computer and threw away into furnace, Pandey said.

An FIR has been registered under the sections of dacoity, he said.

Police is investigating the case and efforts are on to nab all miscreants, Pandey said.
