Finolex Industries has reported over two fold jump in its net profit to Rs 50.20 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2014.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 22.64 crore during the same period of the previous fiscal.
Net sales of the company rose to Rs 655.22 crore for the April-June quarter, as compared to Rs 555.13 crore during the same period of the previous financial year, Finolex Industries said in a filing to BSE.

MAIT to organise workshop on ICT standards * IT hardware industry body MAIT today said it will organise a one-day programme on Indian standards in ICT in association with Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY) and the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).
The programme, India Standards: A strong ICT Nation, has been divided into four sessions. It will be held in the National Capital, MAIT said in a release.
The sessions are Role of Standards in ICT & Electronics Sector - Trends, Opportunities and Issues, Compulsory Registration Order - Experience and way forward, Market Surveillance, Quality Control and Inspection, Anti-Counterfeiting and Consumer Awareness, it added.
The event aims to create awareness around internationally accepted best practices for ICT standards.
The programme has been supported by several international organisations like Information Technology Council, Digital Europe, Taipei Computer Association and SESEI (seconded European Standardisation Expert in India).

Smartlink launches 2G calling tablet for Rs 14,990 * Smartlink Networking Systems today launched its calling tablet, Digitab DT-LM72T, priced at Rs 14,990.
The dual-SIM tablet runs on MediaTek's 1.6Ghz Dual core processor with 1 GB RAM, Smartlink said in a release.
The Digitab enhances experience with its calling feature as well as high speed 3G data for browsing, online gaming and videos, it added.
It sports a 2 megapixel rear camera and a 0.3 MP front facing camera.
The Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean-powered Digitab has a 8 GB internal memory and runs on a 3,000 mAh battery.

Praj Ind April-June consolidated net down 19% to Rs 2.49 cr * Praj Industries, a biofuels technology solutions provider, today reported a 19.41 per cent decline in consolidated net profit for the April-June quarter at Rs 2.49 crore from Rs 3.09 crore a year-ago.
Total income for the quarter stood at Rs 221.27 crore, registering an increase of 27.85 per cent over Rs 173.06 crore in the same period last fiscal, the Pune-based company said in a release here.
During the quarter, Praj successfully commissioned a bioethanol plant in Sierra Leone.
