Five persons were arrested today for allegedly stealing ornaments from the devotees of the Subramania temple at Sullia near here.
Gold worth Rs six lakh was also seized from the arrested persons, police said.
Acting on complaints from devotees about a gang which had been stealing ornaments by diverting their attention, police arrested five persons including two women loitering in the temple premises in the guise of devotees.
While four of them have been remanded in judicial custody,one person was handed over to police custody for interrogation.
