Five injured after brakes of truck laden with gravel fail

Five persons were injured when the brakes of a truck, laden with gravel coming from Narnaul, failed abruptly on the flyover at Naiwali Chowk here today after which it hit two private buses in front of it, police said.

A jeep as well as five persons, including a woman, standing near the Naiwali Chowk, were hit by the buses, they said.

The injured persons were admitted to the local trauma centre where the doctors referred one seriously injured person to PGIMS, Rohtak.

After being hit by the truck, a bus suddenly ran into a sweet shop situated near the Chowk, and damaged goods in the shop while the other bus dashed into an adjoining shop.
 

The driver of the truck, who fled after the accident, was booked by the police for rashness and negligence.
