Former deputy chairman of Block Samiti hacked to death

Former deputy chairman of Qadian Block Samiti in the district was killed and his son suffered critical injuries when they were attacked by some armed persons with sharp-edged weapons at Leel Kalan village, police said today.
Amrik Singh's house was attacked by some drunken men late last night following which Amrik (52) and his son, Dharminder Singh, went to a police station to lodge a complaint.
While returning home, the duo was waylaid by a group of men carrying sharp-edged weapons. While Amrik was killed on the spot, his son suffered critical injuries in the attack, police said, quoting a complaint filed by Amrik's brother Ajit Singh in this regard.
