Girl dies of snake bite, family accuses doctors of negligence

A 10-year-old girl died at a private hospital here where she was admitted after being bitten by a snake, police said today.

Tanisha's family said the girl was bitten by a snake in their village on September 13. She was admitted to the private hospital the same day.

Alleging negligence on the part of doctors, they staged a protest at the hospital.

However, the hospital authorities denied the charge.

A heated argument took place between the hospital staff and her family members, prompting the police to intervene.
