Gold, silver jewellery robbed in Jhunjhunu

A gang of robbers today looted about 2.5 kg of gold and a number of silver ornaments worth Rs 1.5 crore after breaking a window of a jeweller's shop in Kabootaron Ka Chowk here, police said.

When owners went to open the shop this morning after a gap of Sunday (yesterday), they found that a window was broken and 2.5 kg of gold and silver ornaments were stolen, quoting an FIR filed by Rajkumar, the police said.

A group of robbers probably entered the shop after breaking the window and fled in the cover of darkness, police said.

A team of forensic experts was called to collect samples and finger prints, they said, adding that the CCTV footage were also being examined.
