Gur quiet in delhi, rises in upcountry markets

The wholesale Jaggery market settled held steady in the national capital today as prices continued to be asked at previous levels in the absence of any worth while moving factors.

On the other hand, Muradnagar and Muzaffarnagar gur markets showed a rise of 50 per quintal on better offtake.

Marketmen said pick up in demand and restricted supply mainly pushed up gur prices in Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar markets.

In Muzaffarnagar, gur Laddo prices improved by Rs.50 to finish at Rs.2500-2600 per quintal.

At Muradnagar, gur Pedi and Dhayya enquired higher from Rs.2400-2475 and Rs.2400-2450 to both settle at Rs.2450-2500 per quintal respectively.
 

The following are today's quotations per quintal:

Gur chakku 2,700-2,800, pedi 2,750-2,850, dhayya 2,900-3,000 and shakkar 2,900-3,000.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket 2,300-2,350, chakku 2,550-2,650, khurpa 2,450-2,500 and Ladoo 2,500-2,600.

Muradnagar: Pedi 2,450-2,500 and dhayya 2,450-2,500.
