Heavy rain lashes parts of Kerala; Man dies of lightning

A 50-year-old man today died after being struck by lightning here even as heavy rains lashed various parts of Kerala.

The man was standing in the road when he was struck dead by lightning, police said.

The city has been experiencing heavy rains since the past two hours and low-lying areas have been water-logged.

According to MeT office, heavy rains were also reported from Alapuzha, Punalur and Kottayam areas.

MeT office has forecast heavy to moderate rains till April 25.
