A 24-year-old married housewife from the district was stripped by two men and robbed of Rs 10 lakh in Ambivili-Mohane, the police said here today.
Senior police inspector D M Katake of the MFC police station under the Kalyan division told PTI that it on May 10, at around 6 pm, the two accused entered her house asking for drinking water.
They locked the door from inside, thrust a ball of cotton into her mouth, beat her up, tore off her blouse, pulled away her saree and molested her, according to the victim's complaint, the police official said.
Allegedly, they also took away cash worth of Rs 10 lakh from her cupboard and fled after threatening to kill her if she complained to anybody, the police official said.
One of the accused has been identified has Siddeshwar Kumar from the same locality and the police has launched a manhunt for both the accused, the police official said.
An offence under Section 354, Section 394, Section 506(2), read with Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the duo, the police official told PTI.
