Himachal Pradesh Congress will launch programme in all thepanchayatsof the state to highlight the achievements of the government, HPCC President Sukhvinder Singh Sukkhu said today.
Addressing the first Panchayati Raj convention organised by the party here, Sukkhu said the programme 'PanchayatEk, Vikas Anek'would be a major step by the party to win 2017 assembly polls. Five member committees will be formed at booth level for further penetration in rural areas.
He lauded the achievements of the successive Congress led governments for making Himachal Pradesh a model state in the field of development and said the present government has fulfilled almost all promises made in the party's election manifesto.

"The state government has launched schemes for the welfare of each section of society and development of the state is of top priority for the government and the party would apprise the people about the developmental initiatives of the government," he said.
Sukkhu said the 73rd and 74th Constitution amendments ensured 33 per cent reservation to women in Panchayati Raj Institutions which have now increased to 50 per cent, increasing the representation and participation of women in Panchayati Raj Institutions and paving way for decentralisation of power.
He asked Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh to prepare policies forallocation of funds to
PanchayatiRajInstitutions from the state's own resources as promised.
He said the party was organising meetings and conventions of all sections of the society to it strong to fulfil the target of 'Mission Repeat 2017' in the upcoming assembly elections.
