IED found near district road ahead of Dy CM's pass through

Manipur Police today detected a powerful IED near a road here before Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam was scheduled to pass through it.

The 2 kg-IED was planted by unidentified militants at Meitram Lamkhai along Imphal Tidim road which the Deputy Chief Minister was to take to reach Bishnupur district.

The bomb was later defused, police said.
