IRCTC joins relief ops in J&K

IRCTC, a railway undertaking, has joined relief operations for flood-affected people in Jammu and Kashmir by supplying them 1.92 lakh bottles of drinking water until yesterday with one lakh more bottles on the way today.

"IRCTC tied up with Air Force authorities. The first lot of railneer (its branded water), comprising 5,520 cartons carrying 66,240 one liter bottles, was airlifted from Palam Air Base here on September 7," it said in a statement today.

It sent 25,920 bottles the next day by train to Jammu while over one lakh bottles were again airlifted on September 9 for the people in Kashmir".
