Jayalalithaa directs releasing of water from Amaravathy dam

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has directed releasing of water from Amaravathy dam in Tirupur district to benefit over 7500 acres of agricultural land.

Jayalalithaa said that she had directed that water be released from June 26 onwards following requests from the farming community in this regard.

A total of 7520 acres of land will benefit, she said in a statement.
