JK to host All India Police Martyr Hockey Tournament

A total of 12 national level hockey teams from various states and central police organisations of the country will participate in the fourth All India Police Martyr's Hockey Tournament being organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Police from March 10.

"Jammu and Kashmir Police is hosting fourth All India Police Martyr's (AIPM) Hockey Tournament at Jammu from March 10 and it would last for eight days," Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) S M Sahai said here today.

He said that 12 national level teams from different states and central police organisations would participate in the championship.

"The 12 teams include a team each from CRPF, SSB, CISF, Punjab Police, BSF Jalandhar, EME Eleven Jalandhar, Army Corps Signal, Punjab and Sindh Bank, Namdari Eleven Sirsa and J&K Hockey Eleven besides Jammu and Kashmir Police" he said.
 

Sahai, who reviewed the arrangement of the championship today, said, "The Jammu and Kashmir police has been organising various state and national level tournaments in the state every year aimed to promote sports culture, besides providing opportunities to the talented persons in the sports arena."

He said such events also provide opportunities to the sports lovers to witness national level competitions in the state.

"Our sports persons have excelled at various levels bringing laurels for the organisation and the State" he said.
