Actor Katie Holmes has been roped in to feature as the lead in an untitled drama pilot at Fox.
The 39-year-old actor will portray the role of FBI Special Agent Hazel Otis, who is in the middle of investigating a terrorism threat at home when an affair with a prominent general destroys her life and threatens her career.
How Otis rebuilds her life after being branded as "the mistress" is the focal point of the plot, Variety reported.
The story comes from Ilene Chaiken ("Empire" showrunner) and Melissa Scrivner Love, who will serve as writers and executive producers.
Holmes is also attached to executive produce the project.
