Lawyers today boycotted courts to demand setting up of a bench of Allahabad High Court in the western Uttar Pradesh region and threatened to gherao the Parliament on November 26 to press for their demand.
It has been decided to gherao the Parliament on November 26 and the lawyers would boycott the national 'Lok Adalat' to be held on December 6 in the country, Secretary of the State High Court Bench Action Committee Anil Kumar told reporters.
The committee has also decided to observe 'hartal' on November 24, he said.

Meanwhile, judicial work across 12 districts of western Uttar Pradesh today came to a standstill as lawyers boycotted courts.
Litigants faced inconvenience as judicial work in the districts was adversely affected due to the strike.
The hearing of several high profile cases including the Kawal killings case was also deferred due to the strike.
The lawyers of western districts of the state have long been demanding setting up of a bench of the Allahabad High Court in the region in view of the inconvenience faced by litigants.
