Taking positive cues from the spot markets on rising demand, lead futures rose by 0.56% to Rs 108.40 per kg today as participants widened their exposure.
Lead for delivery in February traded higher by 60 paise or 0.56% to Rs 108.40 per kg with a turnover of three lots at the Multi Commodity Exchange.
The metal for delivery in January gained 55 paise or 0.51% to Rs 107.80 per kg in a business volume of 515 lots.
Market analysts said pick up in demand at the domestic spot markets, particularly from battery-makers, influenced lead prices at futures trade here but metal's weakness overseas restricted the gains.
