Life term for rapist

Pronouncing the judgment, District and Sessions Judge B A Patil directed the convict Girish (30) to pay Rs two lakh compensation to the victim and Rs 25,000 as fine.

The prosecution succeeded in proving that Girish had lured the girl, a neighbour, and abused her sexually on November 13, 2011 at Chennagondanahalli, about 20 km from here.

The girl's parents had filed the complaint with Mallandur police who investigated and filed the chargesheet.

Public Prosecutor V K Upadhye had argued the case.
