Lightning kills two in Tripura

Two persons, including a school student were killed when lightning struck them in Tripura, police said today.

Alani Tripura (12), a class VI died in the spot at Longtharai valley in Dhalai district yesterday and a 42-year old Sharmistha Debbarma was also killed on the spot at Kalyanpur in Khowai district on the same day.

Heavy rain accompanied by thunder and high velocity winds has been pouring the state since Sunday, uprooting trees and electric posts and damaging crops.
