The anti-corruption bureau of Thane police today arrested a junior engineer with the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company and two others at Ambadi in Bhiwandi while taking bribe.
Nitin Kamble, the accused, had demanded a bribe of Rs 1,50,000 from the complainant to reduce the penalty of about Rs 4 lakh which the latter faced for a slow power meter.
According to DySP, ACB, Sanjay Mohite, the bribe was negotiated and brought down to Rs 70,000. The complainant first paid Rs 53,000.

Kamble asked the complainant to pay the balance to Yogesh Bhoir and Rahul Bhoir.
The ACB laid a trap at the complainant's residence and arrested Yogesh and Rahul this afternoon. Subsequently Kamble was arrested.
They have been charged under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
