Maharashtra CM approves Rs 799 crore budget for PMRDA

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today approved budget of Rs 799.65 crore for the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA).

Shivaji Nagar-Hinjewadi Metro (Rs 451 crore), Pune-Lonavala and Pune-Daund suburban railway, outer ring road and river rejuvenation is included in the budget, a statement from Chief Minister's Office said.

Pune Guardian Minister Girish Bapat, Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad Mayor and MLAs were present for the meeting.

Meanwhile, Fadnavis also attended the 40th General Body meet of Vasantdada Sugar Institute at Manjri in Pune district.

The statement said the Chief Minister presented various awards to farmers at this function attended by NCP chief Sharad Pawar, Ajit Pawar, Jayant Patil and other leaders.
 

Fadnavis praised role of Vasantdada Sugar Institute for special focus on research for new technologies and stressed on post sugar production research.

"Government is helping sugar industry in every possible way. We've given soft loans to sugar factories so that they can give Fair Retail Price (FRP) to farmers, which is highest amongst states," he said.

Government is positive for power purchase from co-generation plants and is also in consultation with the Centre for cost of ethanol, said the Chief Minister.
