A man was arrested today for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl and pushing her into flesh trade, police said here.

The accused Aslam was arrested by Ghaziabad police after the girl, who was undergoing treatment at GTB hospital in New Delhi, told the doctors attending her that she was raped by the accused and pushed into flesh trade, SHO of Sahibabad police station Haridayal Singh Yadav said.

She told doctors that she was brought from a West Bengal village by one Babu to Shalimar Garden in Ghaziabad in December 2014.

Babu then allegedly sold her to Aslam who pushed her into flesh trade and also used to rape her regularly, Yadav said, adding that due to continuous mental and physical torture the victim fell ill and was admitted to the hospital.

The doctors informed Delhi police about the girl and her ordeal who in turn forwarded the information to their counterparts in Ghaziabad. After which Sahibabad police nabbed the accused from the hospital premises when he had gone to get the girl discharged, he said.

The girl has been kept under custody of a Delhi-based NGO, Yadav said, adding that a manhunt has been launched to nab Babu.
