Man stabs woman several times, arrested

A 26-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stabbing a woman several times, leaving her injured with severe wounds, in Sultanpuri area of outer Delhi, police said.

Lucky barged into the woman's house and stabbed her several times yesterday allegedly after his engagement with her was called off, a police officer said.

She was admitted to a hospital with injuries on her neck and arms. Her condition is stable, he said.

The engagement was called off by the woman's family for his drinking habit and temper, the officer said.

The police have registered a case and the matter is being probed, he said.
