Mixed trend prevails on the opening day

Prices of urad dal and moong dal increased while that of gram dal and sugar decreased and other commodities ruled steady in the wholesale foodgrain market here today.

Urad dal price rose sharply by Rs 300 per quintal to Rs 10,900 from its closing rate of Rs 10,600.

Moong dal opened the week at Rs 10,800 an increase of Rs 200 per quintal from Rs 10,600.

Price of gram dal fell by Rs 200 per quintal on opening day to Rs 6,200 from Rs 6,400.

Sugar fell marginally by Rs 30 per quintal to Rs 2,750 from Rs 2,780.

Thoor dal (Rs 10,800), Wheat (Rs 3,000), Maida((90 kg)(Rs 2,500) and Sooji (90 kg) (Rs 3,000) opened the week at its same closing rates.
 

Following are the wholesale rates of various agri- commodities (in rupees per quintal, except where stated otherwise): Thoor Dal Rs 10,800, Urad Dal Rs 10,900, Moong Dal Rs 10,800, Gram Dal Rs 6,200, Sugar Rs 2,750, Wheat Rs 3,000, Maida (90 kg) Rs 2,500 and Sooji (90 kg) Rs 3,000.
