A 17-year-old girl allegedly
committed suicide after she was molested by nine persons here, police said today.
"The victim, a class XII student, hanged herself from the ceiling fan yesterday. A suicide note was recovered from her possession in which she has accused nine persons of the same locality of molesting her," police said.
According to police, the victim's brother had eloped with one of the accused's daughter, six months ago. Following which he was sent to jail for allegedly abducting and raping the girl.
"Tension has been prevailing between the two parties since then. The nine accused have been booked on the family's complaint," police said.
No arrests have been made so far and police is further investigating the issue, they added.
