Monsoon active in western Raj

In relief from heat wave conditions, monsoon remained active in western Rajasthan with Jodhpur receiving the maximum rainfall of 7.6 mm.

Mercury plummeted by one to three degree Celsius in many places including Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Barmer, and Churu. The maximum temperature varied between 33 and 39 degrees Celsius at most places in these districts, a Met report said.

Bikaner recorded a minimum rainfall of 2 mm.

Moderate rains occurred at most places in north east and southern regions of the state with Kumbalgarh, Nathdwara, Deogarh, Rasmi, Sadulshahr recording 4 cms of rainfall during last 24 hours.

Rajsamand, Ramgarh recorded a maximum rainfall of 3 cms each, followed by Raipur, Raisinghnagar 2 cms each, and one cm at many places.
 

This trend of moderate and scattered rains will continue for next 24 hours, a forecast said.
