Mukhiya arrested

Police said the mukhiya of Barue panchayat was arrested following a tip off.

The police raided the mukhiya's residence, seized the arms and ammunition and arrested him.

Police seized a double barrel riffle, one pistol and 40 live cartidges from his house.

Investigation is on to unearth his suspected relations with Maoists, the police added.
