Nadda, Khattar to perform 'Bhumi Pujan' of NCI in Jhajjar

Health Minister J P Nadda and Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will perform 'Bhumi Pujan' ceremony of India's largest National Cancer Institute at AIIMS campus in Badhsa in Jhajjar district tomorrow.

Nadda is also the President of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).

A Haryana official spokesman said the country's largest cancer institute would be developed on 32 acres of land at a cost of Rs 2,035 crore.

The project would be completed in 27 months and would have the facility of 710 beds. Of these, 200 beds would be utilized for carrying out the activities of translational research.
 

He said the National Cancer Institute would also have 26 operation theatres, five liner accelerators and four PET scanners. In addition, 800 beds would be provided for night shelter facility in the institute.

The National Cancer Institute would also provide employment opportunities to more than 2700 people. The institute would prove to be another milestone in terms of healthcare services in Haryana.

Union Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent Charge) and Health Shripad Naik, Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij and Agriculture Minister O P Dhankar will also be present during the ceremony, a state government release said.
