Nepalese man arrested on charges of cyber crime

A 36-year-old Nepalese man has been arrested on charges of cyber crime for creating a fake Facebook account and leaking mobile numbers of several women on the social media.

The suspect, identified as Suraj Basnet of Bagdole, Lalitpur district, was arrested yesterday, according to Metropolitan Crime Division.

Nepal Police's Metropolitan Crime Division took action after receiving complaints from the victims that they were meted out with mental torture and character assassination by the imposter in thepopular social networking site.

He created fake Facebook account and allegedly posted indecent contents and also leaked mobile numbers of about 12 women, police said.
 

He faces cybercrime charges as per the Electronic Transaction Act.
