NIA arrestes wanted militants of NDFB(S)

The National Investigation Agency has arrested two wanted militants of National Democratic Front of Bodoland (Songbijit) in connection with terrorist attack on Narsingbari village in Assam belonging to religious minority community people killing three on May 1, 2014.

Two hard-core militants of NDFB(S) LankeswarBoro alias LangthaBoro alias B Laswi (25 years) and Santosh Kherkatary alias K. Simang Baksa, both residents of Baksa district in Assam, were taken into custody yesterday, NIA said in a statement here.

Both were wanted in the case for their role in the criminal conspiracy and execution of the terrorist attack on villagers which resulted in death of three villagers on the spot and injured two others, it said.
 

"Both the arrested accused persons were produced before the Special NIA Court, Assam, at Guwahati today and subsequently taken into ten days police custody for further interrogation of the accused persons. The custodial interrogation is likely to reveal location of these accomplices and recovery of arms and ammunition used in the atatck," the statement said.
