No threat to PM from right-wing elements: MHA

It was reported recently that a new security dossier, prepared by Delhi Police listed threat from right-wing fundamentalists

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Home Ministry today denied there was any threat to Prime Minister Narendra Modi from right-wing elements in the wake of such reports in a section of media.

The sources said the reports are baseless and unfounded and that no new security risk has been added for the Prime Minister.

There was no report of any threat posed from right-wing elements, they said.

It was reported recently that a new security dossier, prepared by Delhi Police ahead of the International Yoga Day event here, lists a threat from right-wing fundamentalists because of Modi's attempts to woo the Muslim community.

It was claimed that the new threat was flagged on the basis of general perception and there was no specific intelligence input regarding any such nefarious plan underway. However, Home Ministry sources have refuted the media reports.
