Online furniture firm Urban Ladder starts service in Gujarat

Urban Ladder, an online furniture firm, has launched its service in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat and Vadodara.

With this, the company, established in 2012 by IITians Ashish Goel and Rajiv Srivastava, now operates in eleven cities of the country.

"Urabn Ladder has launched deliveries in Ahmedabad, Surat, Gandhinagar and Vadodara in Gujarat. It has started fulfilling orders from May and is witnessing overwhelming response from shoppers," said Goel, company's CEO.

The company is aiming to expand its reach to 25 to 30 cities by March 2015.

"Gujarat has emerged among the top Indian states for online shopping and we are sure our product will be very well accepted here," Goel said.
 

The company has set its warehouse and logistics base in Ahmedabad and will provide 'cash on delivery' option exclusively to the customers in Gujarat.

"Online ticket (purchased item) average in the state is Rs 27,000 which is higher than the national average of Rs 20,000," Goel said.

The company is backed by venture capital firms Kalari Capital and SAIF partners.
