The Madhya Pradesh High Court here today issued notices to the state government and others on a PIL demanding that the probe into alleged fraudulent admissions to private medical colleges through Dental and Medical Admission Test (DMAT) should be handed over to CBI.

However, the division bench of Chief Justice A M Khanwilkar and Justice K K Trivedi refused to monitor the Dental and Medical Admission Test (DMAT) scheduled for July 12. The petitioner's lawyer A M Trivedi had sought the court's monitoring in view of the "gross irregularities" in the past.

Former independent MLA from Ratlam Paras Saklecha has filed the petition which also seeks a probe into admissions to private medical colleges in NRI quota.

Advocate Trivedi said the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board scam had shaken the confidence of students.

People were now wary of going to a doctor who has graduated from Madhya Pradesh in view of these frauds, he said.

The notice was also issued to the Principal Secretary, Medical Education Department, the Director, Medical Education, the Principal Secretary, Home, and others. The replies are to be filed by July 27.
