Police today claimed to have busted a gang of vehicle lifters with the arrest of three persons in Siyali Gate area here and recovered four bikes, a country-made pistol and two knives from their possession.
Deepak, Sandeep, residents of Ghaziabad, and Jogendra, a resident of Meerut, were arrested yesterday night, a police officer said.
The trio later confessed to their involvement in a number of vehicle theft cases, he said.
The three used to steal vehicles in Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad and change their registration plates and sell them in other cities like Meerut, Hapur, Baghpat and among others, the officer said, adding that the accused were being interrogated about their other accomplices.
